Bridge Project in Lackawanna County Spurs Outdoor Development

During research on bridge replacements in Lackawanna County, PennDOT uncovered a non-operational railroad beneath the highway.


The bridge will be repurposed as a 3-mile hiking trail, connecting Dunmore and Elmhurst, with additional recreational facets in discussion.


As the region develops, several projects highlight outdoor recreation and local cultural heritage have taken priority.

Social Impact Database Show How Philadelphia Art Engages 

Philadelphia has launched its new Social Impact Database, bringing together resources from over 50 different arts organizations to the public.


Founded by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, over 100 different social and educational programs highlighting mental health, social justice, and education are available to users.


This is part of an initiative showcasing how the arts and culture of the city help to address and advance social issues.

Will Pennsylvania’s Poorest Schools Get More Assistance in 2025?

Over the past year, state legislators have passed a budget addressing nearly $4.5 billion in “adequacy gaps” to properly fund underdeveloped schools across Pennsylvania.
