Learning Academy Successful in Wilkes-Barre School, Could Expand

The Learning Academy, which features a collaborative and comprehensive model for learning and teaching, is experiencing success in Wilkes-Barre’s G.A.R. Memorial Middle School.


With additional state funding, more Wilkes-Barre schools could receive similar support.

Shapiro Administration Invests $500,000 to Support Urban Farmers

The Shapiro Administration has announced over $500,00 in Urban Agriculture Infrastructure Grants to support projects to support urban farmers and increase fresh food access across the state.


Ten counties across the state will be supported in their growing projects.


Some Initiatives include the creation of a new fruit tree orchard, new hands-on learning experiences at schools, and land development.
