PA’s First Advocacy Center for Older Adults on the way in Scranton

Scranton will host the first Older Adult Advocacy Center in Pennsylvania, which is scheduled to be fully operational by the end of the month.


Housed at Telespond Senior Services in Scranton, the first of its kind facility will assist older adults who are victims of abuse or neglect with community resources including transitional housing.


Other services include companion services, transportation, legal resources, and other advocacy services.

HB 1095 Advances Out of Committee- A Big Step for Sealing Eviction Records

Earlier this month, HB 1095 passed out of committee.


Known as Fair Housing Access: Sealing Eviction Records to Protect Tenants & Communities, this legislation seeks to seal eviction records to provide renters with a second chance at stable housing.


Eviction filings stay on public records indefinitely, with can severely limit housing options for renters who fall behind on rent but do not engage in harmful behavior.
