The Scranton-based NEPA Youth Shelter has opened a newly renovated teen center with after-school program space for high school students.


The center features a clothing closet, kitchen, food pantry, and several gathering areas for students and local youth.

Pennsylvania Bill Proposes Data Center Regulation

A proposed Pennsylvania bill would empower the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to create rules governing large data centers.


This would shield residents from rising utility costs and grid stress caused by large data center operations.


This bill would prevent utilities from passing data center-related costs onto regular rate consumers, would require at least 25 percent of electricity for data centers to come from renewable sources, and mandate payments from large centers into a fund for low-income energy assistance.
