Philadelphia’s Senior Environment Corps Tracks Pollution

The Senior Environment Corps is a group of seniors in the Greater Philadelphia region who monitor air, soil, and water quality, as well as keep active and connected while aging.


The group has been active for several decades and is collecting data on microplastics and their environmental and health implications.


The group aims to raise awareness on environmental health as well as aid aging adults to stay busy and interact with fellow community members.

This month, Farmers for Free Trade held a conference with Pennsylvania legislators to discuss increasing costs, trade environment, and how help can be implemented.


The organization elevates the importance of trade for United States agriculture and helps public officials understand the importance of trade to farmers.


Current Pennsylvania legislation is working to support food banks, farmers, and laying foundations for statewide and national agricultural bills.

London Senior Housing Project to Combat Loneliness Wins RIBA Stirling Prize

The Appleby Blue Almshouse, a senior housing development designed to combat senior isolation and loneliness, has won the Royal Institute of British Architects Stirling Prize.


A modern take on the historic social almshouse housing system for lower-income seniors, the development is centered near central London.


Featuring 57 units for adults 64 and older, the building hosts community activities, social events, and shared mealtimes for residents.
