Northeast Regional Crisis Stabilization Center Opens Honesdale Residential Program

The Northeast Regional Crisis Stabilization Center has opened a 24/7 walk-in crisis center in Honesdale.


Since its opening, the center has experienced a walk-in increase of 280 percent.


The new residential program will work as an alternative to locked inpatient healthcare, with a variety of mental health resources available onsite and five-to-ten-day optional stays with therapy available.

New Pitt Program Targets Dental Care Access in Rural PA 

As an aging and shrinking workforce affect the accessibility of healthcare in Pennsylvania, a new initiative from the University of Pittsburgh will train future dental professionals in rural communities.


According to a Department of Health workforce study in 2023, only 17.9 percent of dentists in Pennsylvania provide direct patient care in rural communities, despite approximately 26 percent of the state’s population living in these areas.


Pitt’s School of Dental Medicine plans to offer degree or certification programs in general practice residency, dental assisting, and dental hygiene alongside a network of regional training centers.

NACHC Announces Center for Mobile Health to Advance Mobile Health Care Delivery

The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) has announced the launch of the Center for Mobile Health.


This is the nation’s first comprehensive resource hub dedicated to the expansion of mobile health care policies and initiatives.


The Center for Mobile Health will convene leading experts and representatives to support 674 centers that will operate at least one mobile health unit and expand reach to in-need populations across the country.
