Electrical Engineering Faculty Receive NSF Grant to Research Wearable Technology
Arash Takshi PI and  Sylvia Thomas Co-PI received an  NSF grant in the amount of $369,574 over three years to support their research of wearable technology integrated into fabrics.
Emeritus Professor Carlos Smith Honored by Universidad del Norte
For more than 25 years, Dr. Smith collaborated in a committed and generous manner to the academic activity of Universidad del Norte, Colombia, supporting the formation of doctoral faculty at USF, in different areas of expertise, and in a dual-degree bachelor’s program between the institutions. In honor of these collaborations, the school unveiled the new name of the Conference/Meeting Room of Uni Norte’s College of Engineering: Carlos Smith ,   located in the 9 th floor of the Engineering building.
Amazon VP and Distinguished Scientist Visits USF
The Institute for Artificial Intelligence hosted a seminar by USC Emeritus Professor  Gerard Medioni , Amazon VP and Distinguished Scientist on Feb. 12, in USF Research Park. Medioni presented his 40-year personal journey of computer vision research.
