The MNC Housing and Homelessness Prevention team held its first Open House at MNC 18th Street Campus for families who require help with important housing needs. First, a meet-and-greet and then a thorough assessment of their housing situation to see if they qualify for financial help to prevent homelessness. Our services start with a friendly environment of the parent lounge with coffee and conversation, snacks and drinks, along with clothing and support services for families.

Many find it hard to get the help they need when they really need it and it’s important to spread the word about preventing family homelessness and to help families work together to achieve stable housing. Since 2021, MNC has distributed over $30 million for homelessness prevention thru rental and other assistance, working with City of San Francisco and Tipping Point Community.

The MNC Housing & Homelessness Prevention team has been supporting the Ukrainian community since 2023 particularly in the area of rental subsidies for housing and utilities. Our team has successfully enrolled and surpassed the projected number of participants, prioritizing those with the most significant housing needs. Even though this program is ending we will continue to provide monthly subsidies until June 2026 for those previously enrolled.

Thank you to the incredible MNC Housing & Homelessness Prevention team for their dedication to providing the best services to our Ukrainian community! We served 213 Families and distributed $$1,291,101.

MNC’s Wolfsohn Campus hosted donors Kelly and Edward Simpson and San Francisco City College Board Member Luis Zamora on a campus tour. With MNC Board Member Christine Nevarez, staff and other leaders, they visited MNC Helen Fabela Chavez Campus to see early education at our newest campus and the MNC Evans Campus to meet our Housing and Homelessness Prevention team. All staff were welcoming and did a great job highlighting their MNC commitment and excellence.

These MNC tours are the best way to show guests, funders, community partners and new employees MNC’s impact with families and community while meeting and talking with MNC staff, seeing interactions with children, classroom activities and visiting MNC facilities where the magic happens.

Thank you, Kelly, Edward and Luis, for visiting MNC Inspiring Success and touring our campuses!

MNC’s Leadership staff met with fellow Mission District organization Instituto Familiar de la Raza for a special partnering session. IFR Executive Director Gloria Romero and staff Claudia Leon and Sara Briseno joined MNC’s Executive Team in a wide-ranging conversation about our unique and common services, especially health & wellness programs. MNC also shared our mission, programs and services and were able to connect on a variety of community needs. Both our organizations are committed to rendering as much good and services to our neighbors as possible, and we found much common ground on other things we can do together or in support of each other.

We look forward to more intentional session with Instituto Familiar de la Raza. MNC applauds and thanks Instituto for their friendship and services.
