Instituto visits our Nation's Capital to demand change from Congress!

Instituto's President & CEO Karina Ayala-Bermejo attended the Hispanic Federation’s Inaugural Encuentro Nacional. Instituto’s President & CEO Ayala-Bermejo joined HF CEO Frankie Miranda and various organizations in a powerful press conference demanding that Congress listen to the Latino community. We must continue to call on federal policymakers to challenge these actions as they continue to negatively impact our communities.

We were proud to host a CityKey event in partnership with SGA Youth & Family Services!

The Chicago CityKey is an optional, valid, government-issued ID card offered to all Chicago residents that will unlock many of the great things Chicago has to offer! Instituto continuously strives to build partnerships and create events to bring these essential services to our community members.

Our Annual Prom Attire Giveaway event is this Saturday!

In collaboration with Project Embrace - Chicago and Herrera Law Center, we’re excited to host our annual Prom Attire Giveaway for high school students! 💃🕺 Find dresses, suits, and accessories to help you shine on your special night—completely FREE! Join us this Saturday, April 5th!

Instituto Health & Sciences Career Academy held its Annual Reading Night!

This was a successful event filled with food, fun, games, and interactive activities for all ages. A huge thank you goes out to our incredible group of volunteers who made our annual Reading Night a success: Ms. Arriaga, Ms. Overton, Ms. Grandfield, Ms. Zamudio, Ms. Markopolous, Mr. Curran, Ms. Villarreal, Ms. Galan, our IDPL volunteers, student volunteers, and parents, your time and effort made a meaningful impact, and we truly appreciate all that you do!

Our Career Pathways team organized yet another successful Financial Access Workshop!

Instituto hosted a Financial Access Workshop in which members of the community learned how to better their credit scores and leverage credit as an asset. Thank you to our incredible participants from Fifth Third Bank!

Instituto's Citizenship & Immigration Legal Aid team hosted a DACA Resource Fair!

Instituto's Citizenship & Immigration Legal Aid Department teamed up with Pilsen Neighbors to host a DACA Resource Fair! The Dreamer Resource Fair (DRF) is a space designed to provide support and resources to individuals who identify as “dreamers” and other undocumented individuals. We cannot thank our collaborative organizations enough for making this event possible.

Urgent Call to Action: Help Continue the Citizenship Program!

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has terminated USCIS funding, directly impacting our ability to provide critical immigration services to our community. But we refuse to let this stop us.

For years, Instituto has been a trusted resource for immigrants, offering legal screenings, citizenship classes, and support for those navigating the complex immigration system. With this funding cut, we need your support now more than ever to ensure that families in need don’t lose access to these vital services.

Every dollar makes a difference. Your donation will help us continue to:

✅ Provide free legal screenings

✅ Offer citizenship preparation classes

✅ Support individuals on their path to naturalization

Thank you for joining us at our March Food Drive!

The Instituto team and friends hosted the March Food Bank! With the help of our volunteers from The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) and donations from the Greater Chicago Food Depository, we were able to serve hundreds of families and make a real difference in our community members' lives. We cannot thank our volunteers and staff enough for making these events possible.

March was Women's History Month!

Here at Instituto, we are honored to have trailblazing women who have shattered barriers, defied expectations, and paved the way for future generations. May we continue to strive for progress and equality for all. Thank you for everything you do! Happy Women’s History Month!
