WELCOME BACK, RIVERBATS!

Greetings, Instructional Colleagues!

As the weather (hopefully) cools, and the fall semester brings new beginnings, Workday implementation is moving forward steadfastly. As we celebrate the commemoration of 50 years of educating central Texans at Austin Community College, modernization continues with the implementation of Workday Student to help us move our processes forward into a new era that will keep us current and innovative for another 50 years to come.

In this newsletter, you will find updates on the Workday SIS Project at ACC for Instructional/Academic Affairs faculty and staff, including upcoming phases of implementation, set dates when Workday Student will be on site to meet with teams across the college, as well as the current happenings by the WD Instructional Implementation team, and opportunities for us to hear from you.

Because you’re a part of Instruction/Academic Affairs at ACC, you’re receiving this newsletter to learn more about the Workday SIS implementation, which will affect your daily work in the future.

Working with Workday - Instructional SIS Team Updates

The SIS Project is making continuous progress, with dedicated teams across ACC actively involved in completing essential tasks of the planning phase and mandatory training. This paves the way for the upcoming Architect and Configure phase. In this phase, comprehensive activities include thorough examinations of ACC's configuration, analyzing how Workday will align its configuration methods with ACC's specific requirements.

Tentatively, our Workday consultants are scheduled to return to ACC from September 12th-14th, 2023. Their aim is to finalize the configuration plan at this time.

The Instructional SIS Team has been reviewing the admission processes for ACC's special programs. The focus has been on learning the unique requirements needed for programs such as Health Sciences, International Programs, Adult Education, Continuing Education, etc. By understanding the current processes, we intend to include these important procedures into the conversation for configuration, and connect the possibilities of how Workday Student can benefit the overall processes for these programs.

The team is currently collaborating with Workday consultants and the Student Affairs Modernization team on "Workset A" of the planning phase. This planning phase objectives focus on how ACC will use Workday Student to organize Student Contact Information; Academic Organization; the Academic Calendar; Course Catalog; Student Immigration, International Information, IDs; Academic Requirements; Student Personal Information; Residency; and Programs of Study.

Our team is assigned to cross functional workstreams with Workday consultants to narrow down information in areas across the college. The current work streams the Instructional SIS Team are participating in are Recruiting & Admission, Curriculum & Advising, Academic Foundations/Core, Student Records, and Student Financials.

The Instructional SIS Team and the Student Affairs Modernization team are detailing integral business functions within ACC by reviewing the Customer Readiness Review (CRR) to prepare for Workday being onsite.

Our team is also working hand-in-hand with the Student Affairs Workday Modernization team to have a cohesive, cross functional implementation that covers both sides of the student interface.

**This Workday SIS Team focuses on the processes for Instruction/Academic Affairs. Student Affairs also has a Workday SIS Team that focuses on SA Services.
