Welcome to Spooky Season, River Bats!

Greetings to all - Park your broom and sit for a spell! With classes in full swing and haunted festivities ramping up this October, the Workday SIS team wants to connect with you, our instructional core, and share information and news on the Workday Student Implementation project.

In this edition of the SIS Instruction Newsletter we provide project updates, new ‘Tricks & Treats’ (useful tips) that the team has learned in recent training sessions, and an introduction video about Workday Student. This edition also spotlights a Crosswalk Term of the Month and a Fast Fact about the Workday platform.

Because you’re a part of Instruction/Academic Affairs at ACC, you’re receiving this newsletter to learn more about the Workday SIS implementation, which will affect your daily work in the future.

Workday Student Project Updates

The Architecture and Configuration (A&C) phase begins this month, a significant milestone in the SIS project. We recently finished the planning stage of this project, and now we're moving into reviewing and building the requirements for the software. Workday refers to this as the Architecture and Configuration phase.

Workday consultants will return to campus this month to meet with committed teams across ACC to conduct step-by-step activities that examine how we manage business processes. The consultants will listen to our needs, discuss their solutions and capabiltities, and work to configure the software to our specific requirements.

The college is actively working on an updated comprehensive communication plan for this project. This plan will serve as our guide for maintaining transparent and efficient communication as we move forward.

The SIS Instruction Team completed Business Process Management (BPM) training this September. This vital training allows our team to thoroughly map visual representations of ACC instructional processes efficiently and effectively for a smooth transition.

**This Workday SIS Team focuses on the processes for Instruction/Academic Affairs. Student Affairs also has a Workday SIS Team that focuses on SA Services.

Treat: “Blue is a Clue

If a word or number is highlighted in blue, the user can click on it and it will link to more detailed information.

For example, if a requisition number is highlighted blue, you can click on it and it will take you to a detailed report on the specific process of that particular requisition.

OR if a job title is highlighted in blue, you can click on it to find more info on the position, employee contact, affiliated cost center, and hierarchy of the title.
