This course will define and give a history of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization and massage. Treatment overview and goals will be discusses as will contraindications. Hands-on practice of strokes using a stainless steel tool will be part of the course—performed on back, neck, arms and legs. The tool used for this class is an versatile all-in-one stainless steel tool from Edge Mobility used for IASTM. An $80 value, it is much more affordable than what some of the bigger name IASTM companies charge for their tools.
CE APPROVALS: For massage therapists, this course is pending approval by the NCBTMB for all states but New York. It is currently approved for NJ Massage Therapists under Section 13:37-4.2(a) (i)(xiii) of the New Jersey Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy regulations. For NJ chiropractors, the course is approved because The Institute for Continuing Education is a Pre-Approved Provider/Sponsor with the NJ Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
