"CIVIL" BENCH/BAR LUNCHEONS

 

 

The Fourth Judicial District Bench is initiating a series of bench/bar small group luncheons.  The first will one on Friday, May 25, 2012 at noon in the small gathering room in McKenzie's Chop House.  The luncheon is designed to be a more intimate gathering of the bar and the judiciary to exchange information about practice and procedure.  The first meeting will consist of three judges with civil dockets and twelve attorneys who primarily specialize in civil (non-domestic) cases.

Announcements 

Senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennett encourage qualified individuals to apply for a vacancy on the United States District Court. Chief Judge Wiley Daniel is going on senior status effective January 1, 2013, creating a need to fill the vacancy as soon as possible. The senators are asking qualified individuals to fill out applications and return to either senator's office by May 11, 2012.  Application forms are available here.

Modest Means Program

The Modest Means Program, the first of its kind in the State of Colorado, serves those who do not qualify for legal aid but cannot afford traditional legal fees.  Attorneys enrolled in the program agree to charge no more than $125 an hour up to a retainer of no more than $750.  To refer potential clients to this program, direct them to www.elpasocountybar.org
