The Global Data Quality initiative (GDQ), together with the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC) and Market Research Society (MRS), has published a new Data Cleaning and Verification Toolkit to help sample buyers make more informed, transparent decisions about survey data quality.

The toolkit brings together three practical guides covering participant validation, in-survey quality controls, and post-survey data cleaning and removal. Together, they provide a coordinated approach to identifying poor-quality or fraudulent responses while preserving valid data.

For buyers, protecting data quality requires understanding how responses are evaluated, which controls suppliers use, and the trade-offs involved in retaining or removing data. The toolkit helps buyers ask the right questions and have more productive conversations with their research partners.
