Prayer changes things!
In RSOM's September seminar, Intercessory Prayer and Prayer Walking, Clay and Cheri Ford stirred up the class participants to the "love and good works" of intercessory prayer, reminding us that in intercessory prayer believers can stand in the gap between God's resources and the needs of people (Ezekiel 22:30). Corporate prayer is powerful and effective. Jesus said, "For where two or three gather together in my name, there am I with them" (Mt18.20)...and there is a catalyst effect!
Key principles:
Be purposeful in prayer: pray with intentionality. Remember...we're here to change history!
Pray with authority: we are citizens of two kingdoms, two realms. Eph. 1:3, 18-20; 2:4-6; 6:10-13; Col. 3:1-2; Matt. 6:10, 33. Knowing who we are, where we are seated, what we have and why we are here changes the way we pray! We can't be bold if we have a background issue of feeling unworthy! We can approach God's throne with boldness because it's on the basis of Christ's merits, not ours. Pray expectant prayers, standing on the promises of God.
Pray with passion: fervent prayers are often born out of crisis or desperation. Remember the biblical stories of the Syro-Phoenician woman, Hannah, and blind Bartimaeus.
Pray with persistence: Jesus highlighted the principle of persistent prayer. We see this well in the parable of the Persistent Friend Lk 11: 5-8, and in Christ's statement found in Matt. 7:7-11, "Ask and keep on asking,"...seeking,...knocking.
Actions to take:
Do it! Interceding is part of our job! Be involved with a prayer group or gather a group. Leadership is required for prayer effort to advance so take the lead as you can.
Consider Prayer Walking: this is simply praying while you walk at a particular location where you know intercession is needed. Pray on-site with insight and see breakthrough!

The Battle for America
Contending for Breakthrough
A 21-day Prayer Guide
Tensions are high, and all eyes are on the November elections. What will the results mean for our nation? It is a critical time in history for both America and our world. While leaders determine a nation's course, God is sovereign and can be trusted. Let’s humbly seek His Presence and His intervention on behalf of America. In a posture of unity, let’s agree that He is the only one who can turn the tide in our nation. Our battle is not against flesh and blood but principalities, powers, and spiritual wickedness in high places, and the battle belongs to the Lord. He has permitted us to come boldly to His throne for mercy and grace in our time of need; this is a time of great need. Intercessors must lift our voices with one heart and mind and stand in the gap for America.

You may have heard that in Christ you find your true identity. What does the Bible really have to say about this and why does it matter? This seminar will provide a scriptural study and reflection of who we are in Christ, how we view ourselves, what our identity means to us in our culture, and how we can minister to others in our churches or culture for whom this idea of "identity in Christ" seems new or foreign. Register here now. (Cost is only $5!)

Better Is One Experience Than a Thousand Theories
When I was a teen, my father took me to watch fast cars race a quarter mile at the Rockford Dragway. The steward of the dragway was a friend of dad. We were given pit passes to see the cars and drivers up close.
That night was special. A drag racer named Art Arfons was there, with his famous “Green Monster.” This vehicle was a jet engine fastened to the frame of a car. As we entered the pit we were handed ear plugs. The Green Monster held the world land speed record of 576 mph. It went from 0-60 in three seconds. It was loud! At the time, my mode of transportation was a red Nash Rambler. It accelerated from 0-60 in three minutes. It, too, was loud, but for different reasons.
That was an exciting night! It was made even better when dad’s friend showed me his car. It was a 1963 Ford Shelby Cobra. Just the name “Cobra” exudes danger, in a way “Rambler” does not. I have an image of my Rambler sauntering, strolling, and meandering down the quarter mile strip on its way to a picnic.
The Cobra went 0-60 in five seconds. Dad’s friend looked at me and asked, “Would you like to ride with me to open up the evening?” Yes (power!). And no (danger!).
I said yes.
I sat in the passenger’s seat, and went for the fastest quarter mile I had ever experienced. What teenaged boy didn’t like fast cars? That night I grew in knowledge of power and speed. I had seen magazines and television shows on drag racing. I loved looking at cool cars. But all the reading in the world did not compare with experiencing the Shelby Cobra for myself.
In this book I am arguing that churches must be presence-driven, because experience gives knowledge that theory cannot. Better is one quarter mile raced, than a thousand automotive theories read.
It is the same with God.

“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women,

Revival Sweeping Through College Campuses impacting tens of thousands: 'It's a Movement'
UNIVERSITY of ARKANSAS – Crowds at Bud Walton Arena are usually there to cheer on Razorback basketball. However, this night was much different.
With loud voices and raised hands, nearly ten thousand college students joined together.
Abby Matthews, a college student, shared, "When we gather altogether – just that many people on a college campus – it's just really encouraging that our God is greater than anything we're going to face in this world." As CBN News has reported, this UniteUS event was one of a series bringing the Gospel message to college campuses across the country. Tonya Prewitt, founder of UniteUS, explained, "We started at Auburn University. We had 5,000 students show up, and over 200 got baptized. We next went to FSU – Florida State, the second biggest party school in the nation. We had 4,500 students come, and I believe about 350 students got baptized at that event." The movement then swept through the universities of Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina, with numbers growing along the way. Tonya calls the mission a simple one: Bring hope to a generation. Read more

North Carolina Festival Lifts up Jesus
The third weekend in September tens of thousands of God-seekers in North Carolina attended a Christian festival with the single aim of "lifting up and glorifying Jesus Christ," and hundreds of those attendees ended the weekend making decisions to "surrender their lives" to Him. More than 70 people were immediately baptized. FaithFestNC ..."uses worship music (in a variety of genres) and the Word of God (via testimonies and the preached Word) to unite believers, save the lost, bring a community together, and spark a revival that will change our area and beyond."
"I can't even put into words what the Lord has done this weekend," Pastor Craig Church shared online. "Everybody is celebrating what the Lord has done." Church later told CBN News that 99 people were baptized as a result of what took place over the weekend. Pastor Clayton King spoke before a crowd of 30,000 people. "I've never seen so many people so hungry and desperate for God in my life. I think we're in the midst of a spiritual awakening. The world doesn't see it. But I'm witnessing it," he remarked. King told CBN News that FaithFest is a unique Christian music festival because its focus is bringing souls into the Kingdom. "I've preached at dozens of Christian music festivals over the past 37 years, but what sets FaithFest apart is their focus on evangelism. They prioritized the proclamation of the Gospel and as a result, we saw hundreds and hundreds of decisions for Christ," he explained.

A Move of God in San Quentin Prison
Hundreds of San Quentin prison inmates were "worshipping, praying, crying, and rejoicing" earlier this week after dozens of incarcerated men gave their lives to Jesus, a national prison ministry reports.
God Behind Bars, which works to restore the lives of inmates by building their faith during incarceration and after their release, held an outreach event at the San Quentin Rehabilitation Center in San Quentin, CA. "Eighty incarcerated men baptized at San Quentin prison," the ministry shared online. "After sharing the gospel and hundreds getting saved, all these incarcerated men came up and got baptized! This was late in the evening, the prison lights were on." "All you could hear was the sounds of hundreds worshipping, praying, crying, and rejoicing," the group added. "Everyone was happily soaked in mud as man after man came up to get baptized! Revival is happening." Read more San Quentin prison revival.
