Interfaith February 2024

The Metrowest Interfaith Community includes faith leaders and advocates in the Jewish, Christian and Baha'i communities of Holliston, as well as the Islamic Center of Boston, the Sikh Gurdwara of Millis, the Ramakrishna Vedanta Society of Boston (Hindu), and Peace Islands Institute. Together we provide opportunities for multifaith and multi-spiritual neighbors to come together. In doing so, we honor the presence of God through our rich diversity and help create communities of solidarity and hope.

The World Interfaith Harmony Week was first proposed at the UN General Assembly on September 23, 2010, it was unanimously adopted by the UN and henceforth the first week of February will be observed as a World Interfaith Harmony Week. The World Interfaith Harmony Week is based on the pioneering work of The Common Word initiative.

We hope to submit our Winter Interfaith Book Discussion, along with all of the interreligious programs around the world in the first week of February 2024. It is gratifying to know we have many partners in interfaith solidarity around the globe.

The Israʾ and Miʿraj are the two parts of a Night Journey that Muslims believe the Islamic prophet Muhammad took during a single night around the year AD 621. Muhammad is said to have traveled to the Temple Mount, where he led other prophets including Abraham, Moses, and Jesus in prayer.
