The religious leaders of the Jewish & Christian communities of Holliston, Massachusetts, and the Islamic Center of Boston, the Sikh Gurdwara of Millis, the Ramakrishna Vedanta Society of Boston (Hindu), other Islamic representatives, and the Baha'i community together provide opportunities for multifaith and nonreligious neighbors to come together. In doing so, we honor the presence of God through our richness and diversity and help create communities of solidarity and hope.
The High Holy Days of our Jewish Neighbors
The High Holy Days are the most widely observed Jewish holidays, which may refer to different periods of time depending on the context. They include Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, as well as Sukkot, Shmini Atzeret, and Simchat Torah. They are also known as the Days of Repentance or the Days of Awe and are marked by religious services, meals, and rituals.

From New England to Israel, wherever this spectacular drama has been performed, it has impacted audiences with the beautiful story of the Kinsman Redeemer, inspiring all kinds of people to place their trust in the Keeper of the Promises.

Join Bhante Pannasiri from New England Buddhist Vihara, along with his colleague Jenn, who will describe the map they have created to convey the Buddhist journey toward enlightenment. “The Buddhist map serves as a visual representation of the inward journey in the practice of Buddhism. It guides practitioners to explore their inner selves and gain a deeper understanding of the true nature of existence. The teachings laid down by the Buddha provide a solid foundation for individuals to follow to alleviate suffering within themselves. By following this path, practitioners can cultivate wisdom, compassion, and inner peace, ultimately leading to liberation from the cycle of suffering.”

Season of Creation from Pope Francis
From the Catholic Church, The Season of Creation is an interfaith celebration of God's creation. It starts on September 1, the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, and ends on October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of ecology. This year's theme is "Listen to the voice of creation." The Season of Creation is a special time for all peoples to pray and work together to care for our common home. Pope Francis' first document on this is Care for Our Common Home. October 4: A follow-up document to consider contemporary climate issues in Season of Creation.
