We Will Be Closed Monday, September 7
for Labor Day
The Staff and Trustees of the Rodgers Library wish you all a happy and safe holiday.
A Message From Library Director Linda Pilla
I asked one of my coworkers this morning what her plans are for this upcoming Labor Day weekend. “I shall lie in my hammock and read,” was her reply.

When I asked if she had enough books, she laughed and replied that she has a personal collection of 2,000 titles that she occasionally catalogs. Being a person who is slightly (!) competitive, I could not be outdone by such a claim. This is what I told her in my best “pompous” English accent:

“Well, I have a collection of 75,000+ items. I have a highly trained professional staff that makes sure I can keep track of my collection and have access to it at any time. They also cover my books and keep them looking spiffy! When I am done reading my books or watching my movie, I just drop it off at the state-of-the-art beautiful building where I keep my collection and my staff shelves it for me. They are always nice to me and help me if I can’t find the title I am looking for!”

When both of us stopped laughing, I realized I had my “blurb” for this week!

What a great thing it is to have access to a public library. We really do make sure that the books are kept in excellent condition. We shelve them in such a way that you can find what you are looking for. We are ALWAYS happy to see you and we love helping people.

Our mission here at the Rodgers Memorial Library is to promote literacy through person growth.
What better way to do that than to have an extensive collection of materials available to everyone in the community? Even in this difficult time, you can come to the library six days a week (soon to be seven! See "Library Hours" below) and check out a movie to watch, a book to read or a video game to play.

And, if you need help finding that next read, just ask a librarian.

Looking forward to seeing you soon,

Linda

InterLibrary Loan is BACK! Beginning September 15
We are happy to announce that beginning Tuesday, September 15, we will resume requesting and borrowing books from other New Hampshire libraries, a procedure commonly referred to as InterLibrary Loan, or ILL.

We anticipate that requests will take 2-4 weeks to fill.

NOTE: At this time, not all libraries have returned to full service, but we will do our best to fulfill your request(s). For newer items, please consider making a "material request": asking the library to purchase your requested item.

Place your inter-library loan request by clicking on the button below and completing the request form (library card number required), or by contacting ILL Librarian Michele - or any library staff member - at 603-886-6030.
