CUNY Callouts

Teresa Liu, Queens College ’23, is a soon-to-be first-gen college graduate who is passionate about elementary and early childhood education. Part of the prestigious Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, Teresa took advantage of many rich, campus-centered experiences during her years at CUNY. She was a CUNY Reading Corps intern, a tutor for CUNY Tutor Corps and part of QC’s Office of Student Development and Leadership’s Women’s History Month Committee.

“As a first-generation college student, it was difficult navigating college, but my dedication to my professional development let me gain experiences in teaching and serving underserved youth,” she said.

Teresa’s Advice: “There is nothing more crucial to succeeding than having a strong support system. Remain in touch with your peers, professors and even those outside of college who have supported you.”
