Toys for Tots

In the spirit of giving for the holiday season, our corporate office in Washington N.C. partnered with Toys for Tots this year. Toys for Tots is a local charity that donates new toys, books, and resources to disadvantaged children during the holidays. Employees at the office were given a month to fill their donation box with brand new toys, which will then be sorted and donated to children in local families by the non-profit organization, hopefully putting smiles on many children’s faces this winter.

If your plant/office location is making similar contributions or doing volunteer work, share your efforts with the marketing team. We want to hear about the positive efforts our teams are making on our communities!

Internal Sales & Support Teams Meeting

The internal Sales and Support Teams meeting took place in Washington, NC on November 13th-15th this year. Around 40 people from departments across the board attended, including sales people from the following divisions: high purity, national accounts, CNI, wholesale, and more. Participants traveled from Canada and all over the U.S to attend.

The event provided an informative overview of what we’ve accomplished in regards to our products, addressed what we hope to accomplish next year, and offered training sessions as well.

Due to the meetings collaborative nature, each department (Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Executives) was represented and contributed their insights which allowed for a great networking opportunity internally.

Ultimately, the conclusion that the group unanimously reached at the meeting was one of collaboration. Many employees gained knowledge of internal resources and support that they had otherwise been unaware were available to them. This led to the creation of an employee roster, listing everyone’s titles and job responsibilities, regardless of his or her presence at the meeting, for the sake of future synergy between our departments. The ability to identify one another as resources molded a new perspective that the M+H Air Filtration Americas team is one unified group, our roles intertwining and depending on each other.

Old R&D Lab Location - Lousia, VA

New R&D Lab Location - Goldsboro, NC

The R&D lab has recently been relocated from Louisa, VA to Goldsboro, NC and we are planning to be back up and operational by the end of 2023. This will once again give us the ability to quickly test filter performance, develop new products, improve our existing filter medias, along with providing technical support and service for our customers and applications in the field. We also have plans to expand our lab capabilities to allow for internal breach testing and ASHRAE 52.2 Appendix J testing in 2024.

Meet the Team

Meet David Schaaf. David joined the MANN+HUMMEL, LS&E Air Filtration Americas team as Director of Molecular Filtration this year.

Dave is originally from Louisville, KY, but he currently resides in Mount Pleasant, SC with his wife Laurie.

For the last seven years, he was at AAF Flanders where he was the Gas-phase Filtration Product Manager. Prior to that, he held various engineering and manufacturing positions in gas-phase filtration at Freudenberg Filtration, MWV, and Purafil. Before focusing on air filtration, he spent a combined 16 years in product design and development at Trane, York International, and Nailor Industries.

In his free time, Dave enjoys travelling with his wife, driving his 1964 ½ Mustang convertible, and playing pickleball.

Dave will be a speaker at AHR this year on molecular filtration, specifically the honeycomb. Join us in showing him our support as he represents our team at our biggest trade show of the year!
