Optimist International invites and welcomes proposals for our 2025 Annual Convention on June 29 to July 3, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri.
We are seeking training session proposals on a wide range of topics, including areas of interest for Club Leaders and Individual Members that align with our core values of Optimism, Respect, Integrity, and Global Community.
Topic areas include:
- Leadership Skills
- Fundraising
- Risk Management
- Technology (cybersecurity, web development, data protection, etc.)
- Communication methodology (content development, social media, media relations, etc.)
- Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging
- The Power of Optimism, Gratitude, Positive Attitude, etc.
- Wellness and Healthy Living
- Community Engagement and Outreach
- Project Planning
- Personal Development
- Community Service
- Self-Care
Additionally, we welcome proposals for small hands-on service projects that can be completed with minimal manual labor and a few tools to give our Clubs new ideas for bringing out the best in their communities, young people, and themselves. Clubs can range in size from 4-40 members and ages 14-84. Giving back is not limited by age!
The objective and goal for these sessions is for our members to leave the convention feeling that they have had an experience unlike any other. The hope is that they return home so motivated by our speakers and so filled with gratitude, hope, and kindness, that they are ready to go out and share those with others through service, bringing out the best in their communities, children, and themselves.
All training sessions will be held on either Monday, June 30 or Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the St. Louis Union Station Hotel.
Each training session is approximately 60 minutes long. The session should include time for questions and answers. Each room will have an LCD projector, screen, and computer available. You will need to submit your materials by June 20, 2025, and they will be loaded on the computer you are using. Any additional A/V requests should be noted in the Proposal, including if you need sound for your presentation.
Each Proposal should contain the following information:
- Title of Training Session or Project
- Description of session and/or project (150 words or less)
- Presenter’s short bio (150 words or less)
- Three Anticipated learning outcomes for the session and/or project
- Any additional AV requirements
- Maximum number of session participants (if limited)
Presenter bio and session description will be used in the convention program and may be edited at the discretion of Optimist International.
Proposals are currently being accepted, and the final deadline for submitting Proposals is 6 p.m. CDT, March 31, 2025. Final Decision and Participant notification will take place on April 14, 2025.
