2024 Tax donation deadline approaching
Alongside Hope has extended its giving deadline to February 28, 2025, following the Canadian government's proposal to extend the 2024 tax year deadline for charitable donations. This change is intended to provide certainty for donors during tax season. Donations made by February 28, 2025, will be eligible for tax support in the 2024 tax year.

The regifting season is not over yet!
Ontarians will be receiving a $200 cheque from the provincial government. $200 can provide a donkey to carry water for women and children in Kenya. It can provide wool blankets, socks, a flashlight and thermos to keep people in Ukraine warm during the harsh winter. It can provide 50 women in Kenya with vegetable seeds. It can provide two Galla goats to a family in need, or a beehive to a woman in Colombia. If you are in a position to do so, please consider re-gifting your $200 rebate to someone in need. Charitable tax receipts dated February 2025 or earlier can be used towards your 2024 income tax return.

Changing the trauma of war for children in Gaza
The ongoing conflict in Gaza has had a devastating impact on the physical and mental health of children. PWRDF is a longtime supporter of the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza that is operated by the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem. With funding from PWRDF and other members of the Anglican Alliance, Al-Ahli launched a program in Al Mawasi to help children recover from the trauma and hardships of war.

Backbone of the community
Meet Agnes Mukina, a 56-year-old mother of six from the Muvau village in Makueni County. Mukina is a shining example of both resilience and determination. Despite facing adversity, Mukina has managed to rebuild her life while providing for her family, thanks in part to an Alongside Hope project that is bringing clean water to her community.
