International Institute's Employment Program Generates Major St. Louis Regional Economic Benefits, New Study Reveals
ST. LOUIS (April 9, 2019)-A just-released analysis of the job placements made through the International Institute of St. Louis' Workforce Solutions department reveals major contributions to the region's economy. The analysis was conducted by the St. Louis Regional Chamber working in conjunction with the Institute.

Regional Chamber Director of Economic Research & Analysis Ruth Sergenian studied the economic contribution of the International Institute's Employment Program's 465 entry-level job placements on the bi-state regional economy in 2017, the most recent year for which complete data is available. The Institute provided information about the number of job placements, hourly wages, full-time or part-time positions, business sector, and whether the position provided benefits.

"Whether from immigrants themselves or the businesses we serve through our employment program, we have a lot of first-hand evidence that our work helps individuals and businesses across the region. This data quantifies what we already knew -- that immigrants play a vital role in our regional economy as workers, tax payers and job creators," noted International Institute of St. Louis Vice President of Programs Blake Hamilton
