ASPCC Loves You Cookbook
For this project, students were offered a $25 Safeway gift card to create their culinary masterpiece and were asked to make these recipes as low cost as possible. Then, students submitted the recipe, directions, images of the production and product, as well as the reason why they chose the recipe.
Check it out (and maybe make a recipe or two)!
Zoom Around the World
PCC instructor Cameron Bynum needs your help! He's teaching Public Speaking (COMM 111) and has asked his COMM students to have a ~30 minute Zoom meeting with someone from another country - that's where you come in! Sign up here to be paired with a local student that you'll "meet" on Zoom, practice your English, talk about where you grew up and your culture, etc.

He will provide a set of questions that you can use, but you can talk about whatever you want. The instructor will also join the meeting so he can answer any questions you have at the beginning, but it will mostly just be you and one of his students having a conversation!

The more open your availability, the more likely he'll be able to pair you. Contact Cameron Bynum with questions: cameron.bynum@pcc.edu.
ESOL Club
ESOL Club meets every Thursday from 12-1pm.
Watermark Scholars STEM Scholarship Opportunity
Are you a womxn in STEM?
The Watermark Scholars program application is now open!

Two students will be selected from the pool of applicants, and awardees will each receive $5,000 to help continue their education. To participate, submit a written essay, up to 500 words, or a short video on the topic of “Who has inspired you to pursue a career in science or technology, and what do you want to achieve upon graduation?”
Scholarship Opportunity
Are you interested in winning a $1,000 scholarship? How about also helping other international students who are dreaming of achieving what you already have — studying in the USA?

Take this short survey, and you'll be entered to win $1,000, AND you’re also helping prospective international students learn what their U.S. education experience might be like.

Plus, the survey:
  •  Is easy to enter
  •  Has no essay requirement
  •  Is open to all accepted students

And the money is yours to use as you need for your U.S. life and education — there are no strings attached!

Housing Needed & Offered
Housing Needed
Taiyo (he/him/his) is a 20-year-old international student from Japan who just transferred to PCC for his second year of college. He currently lives in NE Portland on a short-term lease, but he's looking for a new place to live. He's looking for a room/roommate in Downtown/NW/SW Portland beginning August or September, on a month-to-month, 6, or 9 months lease. He prefers to live with another college student close to his age and someone who is open to having quiet and private hours occasionally. He loves pets, so if you have them, great! He wants to be within walking distance to groceries. He loves sports, nature, video games, and books. Besides that, he's open to anyone, and hopefully, you'll become friends! His budget is flexible, but he would like to stay at or below $800. If you feel like it's a match, please contact Taiyo at taiyo.ueda@pcc.edu or 541.286.8874.
