Policies, Deadlines & Important Info from the SEVIS Team

Most summer term classes and student services are offered remotely for the entire term.
As a reminder, all F-1 international students must be enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 credits) each term to maintain their status. (Exceptions: Students on an annual vacation term, or approved Reduced Course Loads)

All F-1 international students must complete this Mandatory SEVIS Check-In form by Wednesday, June 30, 2021. If you have not already filled it out, please do so before the deadline.

The following important dates help you plan ahead for the Spring term at PCC. Please review the Academic Calendar for a full list of academic dates.

  • Tuesday, June 29, 2021: Last day to add classes
  • Tuesday, June 29, 2021: Last day to drop classes (to receive a full refund)
  • Saturday, August 28, 2021: Last day to change grade option
  • Saturday, August 28, 2021: Last day to withdraw from classes

The last day to drop any classes and receive a full refund is Tuesday, June 29, 2021. All drops must be done in your MyPCC before 10:00 PM on 06/29/2021. Please visit How to drop a class for more information.

You can only drop a class until the drop deadline. After that, it’s called “withdrawing” and it has different consequences. You have to pay for the class and will show up as a “W” on your transcript. W grades do not affect your GPA, but they can affect your academic standing.

If a class has already begun, you will not be able to register for it online. You will need to be given permission to enter the class by emailing the instructor to grant an “override”. Email the instructor with your full name, G#, and the class that you wish to be added. Once you have the override, you must go online to your account and register for the class. The deadline for late registration is Tuesday, June 29, 2021.

If you move, you are required to report your change of address to the OISS within 10 days of the change. Complete this online form to update your address. The OISS will update your SEVIS record and the PCC database with your new address.

COVID-19 Resources
PCC is working hard to support students during this time. See below for some of the resources available through PCC during COVID-19. Please reach out if there are specific resources you'd like to see!
Free COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic at Willow Creek Center 6/30/21
PCC is hosting a FREE, walk-up COVID-19 vaccine clinic at Willow Creek Center from 9 AM to 1 PM, Wednesday, June 30. Open to everyone 18 and older, the outdoor clinic will feature “one-and-done” Johnson & Johnson vaccines, which require just one dose for full efficacy. No appointments, proof of insurance or identification are required and bilingual support staff will be onsite to assist Spanish speakers. Plus, the first 75 individuals to receive the vaccine will receive a $25 Fred Meyer gift card.

PCC’s Willow Creek Center is located at 241 SW Edgeway Drive in Hillsboro, which is on SW 185th Ave and West Baseline Road adjacent to TriMet’s Willow Creek Transit Center along the MAX Blue Line and multiple bus lines. Plenty of free parking is available onsite.
ASPCC Loves You Cookbook
For this project, students were offered a $25 Safeway gift card to create their culinary masterpiece and were asked to make these recipes as low cost as possible. Then, students submitted the recipe, directions, images of the production and product, as well as the reason why they chose the recipe.
Check it out (and maybe make a recipe or two)!
Zoom Around the World
PCC instructor Cameron Bynum needs your help! He's teaching Public Speaking (COMM 111) and has asked his COMM students to have a ~30 minute Zoom meeting with someone from another country - that's where you come in! Sign up here to be paired with a local student that you'll "meet" on Zoom, practice your English, talk about where you grew up and your culture, etc.

He will provide a set of questions that you can use, but you can talk about whatever you want. The instructor will also join the meeting so he can answer any questions you have at the beginning, but it will mostly just be you and one of his students having a conversation!

The more open your availability, the more likely he'll be able to pair you. Contact Cameron Bynum with questions:
ESOL Club starts again this week and meets every Thursday from 12-1pm.
Are you a womxn in STEM?
The Watermark Scholars program application is now open!

Two students will be selected from the pool of applicants, and awardees will each receive $5,000 to help continue their education. To participate, submit a written essay, up to 500 words, or a short video on the topic of “Who has inspired you to pursue a career in science or technology, and what do you want to achieve upon graduation?”
Are you interested in winning a $1,000 scholarship? How about also helping other international students who are dreaming of achieving what you already have — studying in the USA?

Take this short survey, and you'll be entered to win $1,000, AND you’re also helping prospective international students learn what their U.S. education experience might be like.

Plus, the survey:
  •  Is easy to enter
  •  Has no essay requirement
  •  Is open to all accepted students

And the money is yours to use as you need for your U.S. life and education — there are no strings attached!

If you would like estimates or more information, please contact Mim Lee Phillip (she/her) at or (425) 750-5928
