Announcements from SEVIS Team

ENROLLMENT FOR SPRING TERM

As a reminder, all F-1 international students not on an approved Vacation Term must be enrolled full-time each term to maintain their status.

Students in an Associate degree program must have a minimum of 12 credits, with 9 credits in-person.

Students in ESOL classes must have a minimum of 12 credits in-person.

ATTEND CLASSES

Plan to attend all of your classes in the first two weeks. If you miss class at the beginning of the term for any reason, your instructor may drop you from their class, and give your spot to another student who can attend.

If you are registered for a class that you do not plan to attend for the term, you must drop it officially through your MyPCC account. For most classes, you will still be charged tuition unless you drop by Tuesday, April 14th.

DROPPING CLASSES

DO NOT drop any classes, unless you will still have at least 12 credits and enough in-person classes (9 credits for academic students, 12 credits for ESOL).

If you are not fully enrolled (in 12 credits and the required in-person classes), your SEVIS record will be terminated and your F-1 status canceled. In this case, you must depart the US immediately to avoid any negative consequences. You can confirm with the OISS SEVIS Team if you have any concerns.

DROP DEADLINES

The last day to drop an 8-12 week class and receive a full refund is Tuesday, April 14th. All drops must be done in MyPCC before 10:00PM on that date. Please visit How to drop a class for more information.

Classes shorter than 8 weeks may have an earlier deadline. To see the drop deadline for your class, log in to MyPCC and click “See your drop and withdraw deadlines” in the Term-to-Term Checklist.

LATE REGISTRATION

If a class has already started, you will not be able to register for it. You need permission from the instructor, called an “override.” Email the instructor with your full name, G#, and the class that you want to add. Once you have the override, you must register for the class through your MyPCC account. The deadline for late registration is Tuesday, April 14th.

MANDATORY SEVIS CHECK-IN FORM

All continuing F-1 international students must complete this Mandatory SEVIS Check-In by Wednesday, April 15th.

Exception: Students in their first term at PCC

More important dates are available on the Academic Calendar.
