Internationally acclaimed performance artist, Lee Zimme rman will be offering a free silk painting performance in concert with ARTspot's own contemporary improvisational guitarist, Scott Burnett, a Seattle native, who is also a painter himself. Burnett has been a fixture in the Seattle music scene for over three decades as widely known and loved a performer, recording artist and composer.
As a silk painter Lee Zimmerman has exhibited his works in New Orleans, Santa Fe, throughout the mid west and now in Edmonds and has performed around the US and in the UK, and most recently at the Aubijoux Silk Painting Festival in France.
In his live performances Lee paints on 8 x 4 foot screens made of silk from behind the screen, often in concert settings with orchestras, flamenco dancers, rock groups and jazz or other musical accompaniment. During his performances, paint saturates the fine silk, with colors moving into the delicate fibers creating colorful images as they appear as if from magic from behind the screen.

Saturday, August 17 th from 11:00 ~ 4:00. $150 All materials included.
Each student will be provided with gererous amounts of silk & dyes..enough to take some home!

Hand Built Clay With Barbara Wyatt
Make Bowls!
August 19th 6:30 - 9:00pm $45
As one of our own ARTsopt artists Barbara's work is organic, handbuilt and richly textured. Make up to 5-6 small bowls and if you desire connect them to make a daisy for serving dipping sauces!
Pieces will be fired, coated with clear glaze and then fired a 2nd time. Ready for pick up in about 2 weeks.
All materials included.
 Make a Bird! September 16, 6:30-9pm $45
Each bird will be unique and represent your individual creative talents! Learn the pinch pot and slab techniques! Slips will be used to color the birds, with several colors to choose. A coat of clear glaze is optional before the 2nd firing, depending on weather you want a matt or shiny bird! All materials included.
The Feminine Figurative!
Monday evening, October 14, 6:30-9pm $45
Learn how to make a feminine figure in this introduction to working with clay. Barbara will have samples of figures on a stand, goddesses or a classic head and shoulders you can adapt for your sculpture.
