For help with your smartphone, Penny Bauersfeld will lead
iPhone Privacy and Security: Protecting your Digital Life (Course 13769). This two-session course, starting Wednesday, February 11, 2026, teaches you to configure your iPhone to maximize privacy and protect your data. Identify key settings and how to prevent common security threats. Review Apple’s built-in features such as FaceID, Keychain, recovery keys, and blocking features. Understand how to back up your phone with iCloud and make use of password managers and encryption. Hands-on activities will focus on checking device security settings, adjusting privacy permissions, reviewing Safari browser settings, and knowing what to do if your phone is lost or stolen. Leave class with a more secure iPhone and an understanding of how to identify and respond to privacy risks.
She will also lead iPhone Beyond the Basics II (Course 13768), a two-session class
that builds on concepts introduced in iPhone Basics and assumes knowledge of common iPhone features in Messages, Photos, Contacts, Calendar, and Mail. Understand more advanced functions in these apps and in the settings and customizations available on your iPhone. Explore features in the home and lock screens, review issues concerning privacy, security, and storage, and discuss Notes, Camera, FindMy, Health, Wallet, and other apps. Class meets Thursday afternoons, starting February 12, 2026.
