Summer is almost here which means summer PILI Interns and PILI Fellows are starting at their agencies, the Annual Pro Bono Reception is only a month away, and Pro Bono Committees across the state are busier than ever.

This year, we are delighted that the Honorable Lisa Y. Wilson , Associate Judge in the Tenth Judicial Circuit and Chair of PILI's Tenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee will be our featured guest speaker.

We will also reveal the 2018 Pro Bono Recognition Roster. Today is the last day to register for the roster.

This program brings together law school representatives to discuss best practices, successful strategies and collaboration opportunities. 
This year, 49 summer Law Student Interns and 76 Graduate Fellows will provide 42,400 hours of legal services. Read more.

Additionally,  21 Law Student Interns hold Named or Honorary Internship positions, funded by individuals and groups dedicated to promoting public interest law.  Read more.
Judicial  Circuit Pro Bono Committees Assisting Clients Across  the State
On May 1st, the Fifth Judicial Circuit Committee   conducted their annual Law Day outreach to middle and high school students in Coles, Edgar and Vermilion Counties.

On May 16th, the  Fourteenth Judicial Circuit Committee organized two Free Legal Answers clinics in the Quad Cities.

On May 19th, the  Eleventh Judicial Circuit Committee co-hosted their semi-annual Legal Advice Fair.
On April 19th, 40 representatives from Illinois law firms and corporate legal departments met for PILI's Joint Law Firm & Corporate Pro Bono Roundtable. Read more.
Three volunteers spent the evening assisting low-income clients with legal issues including adoption, tort defense and a name change. Read more.
PILI YPB Raises Over $10,000 at Inaugural Event
On May 2nd, PILI's Young Professionals Board hosted their inaugural event: the Arcade for Legal Aid. Nearly 100 young professionals, board members, sponsors and friends of PILI gathered to raise money for PILI's programs. Read more.
Foundations Renew Funding for PILI
Thank you to the  Alphawood Foundation and the Jerome Mirza Foundation for their continued support of PILI's programs.
Barbara joined PILI's Board of Directors in 1994, later being named as a Life Director in 2017. She dedicated her legal career to educating young lawyers at DePaul University College of Law and through her involvement in and support of PILI's Law Student Internship and Graduate Fellowship Programs.  Read more .
