The Office of Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger (VA-07) seeks a driven, detail-oriented, hardworking, and engaged individual to work remotely with her team for a spring internship. The timing of the internship is flexible based on the candidate’s schedule, but could start as early as January and could last up to 12 weeks. The intern would work with her dynamic team to improve the lives of 7th district constituents and communities. Flexible based on candidate’s schedule – can either be part time or full time (up to 40 hours per week). This is a PAID internship; the office will pay an hourly rate for applicants not supported by outside fellowships. The Office of Congresswoman Sylvia R. Garcia (TX-29) seeks a motivated, detail-oriented, and energetic individual for a legislative internship in Washington, DC for Spring 2021. This internship will be an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on office experience while learning about the legislative process. Qualified applicants have strong writing and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, a strong sense of professionalism and demonstrate a solid work ethic. English and Spanish bilingual candidates with Texas ties are strongly encouraged to apply. This position will be virtual following public health guidelines around the Coronavirus pandemic. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Drafting constituent correspondence on a variety of issues, leading Capitol tours, assisting legislative staff with research, answering and screening telephone calls, managing the front office, participating in hearing preparation, tracking media coverage, and other duties as necessary. Congresswoman Grace Meng’s (NY-06) D.C. Office is seeking interns for the upcoming Spring 2021 Semester. In the Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session, and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session. Due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19, our office will continue to take precautions, including working remotely for the time being. In Washington, interns' responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to check voicemails, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office. If eligible, this internship includes a monthly stipend. Responsibilities include greeting and screening visitors; responding to constituent requests for information; maintaining handout literature regarding the district and the House; hosting Capitol tours; and performing general administrative duties, including answering the telephone and answering constituent requests for general information, tours, and other inquiries. The position requires an incredible attention to detail. 2021 American Enterprise Institute Summer Honors Program
The American Enterprise Institute’s Summer Honors Program is an intensive, fully-funded educational and professional development opportunity in Washington, DC, for top undergraduate students. The program gathers students from diverse ideological backgrounds for substantive dialogue and debate about the most pressing issues facing the country and world. The core feature of the program is discussion-based seminars that offer participants forums to delve deeply into policy areas of their choice. Outside of the seminars, students participate in policy briefings with distinguished guests, high-level networking opportunities, and site visits in Washington.

Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship Applications Now Open!
The Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship is a highly competitive national fellowship program that provides recent college and graduate school alumni with the funding and opportunity to work with one of more than two dozen participating institutions in Washington, DC, including leading think tanks and advocacy groups that focus on international security and diplomacy issues.
Scoville Fellows are supervised by senior-level staff members at their host institutions and may work on a range of issues including nuclear and conventional arms control and nonproliferation, conflict prevention and peacebuilding, diplomacy, environmental security, and emerging technology threats. They contribute to their host organizations' goals through research, public education, advocacy, and by writing articles, blog posts, fact sheets, letters to the editor, op-eds, and/or reports. In addition, fellows often help organize talks and conferences and attend coalition meetings, policy briefings, and congressional hearings. Benefits of this fellowship include salary, basic health insurance compensation, mentoring, moving costs to DC, meetings with policy experts, a modest stipend for professional development purposes, and an entrée into an increasingly influential network of alumni working for domestic and international NGOs, the federal government, academia, and media.
