- Representative Andy Kim (NJ-03) seeks a Paid Legislative Fellow to join his Washington, DC team. This individual will work closely with the Legislative Director and be responsible for assisting the Member’s work on the Select Committee on the Coronavirus Crisis. Duties will include researching complex topics related to COVID-19, conducting policy analysis, and regularly engaging stakeholders and academics. The ideal candidate will have superb verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to evaluate complex policy issues. Successful applicants will have a sense of humor and be a team player. New Jersey ties and prior experience working on public health or emergency management issues are a plus. - The Office of U.S. Representative Grace Meng is accepting intern applications for Fall 2020. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Intern responsibilities will vary. They will be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings and draft constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a congressional office. - The House Committee on Oversight and Reform Majority Staff seeks a motivated, reliable, and detail-oriented undergraduate or graduate student with a passion for communications to fill a full-time press intern position in the fall. The ideal candidate should be a strong writer, team player, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Press intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to, compiling press clips, maintaining press lists, and drafting press releases. This position reports to the Communications Director and broader communications team. - The office of Congresswoman Susie Lee is seeking virtual fall interns for the Washington, D.C. office. Responsibilities will include answering phones, managing the front office, assisting legislative staff with research, and other tasks as assigned. Successful candidate will work well under deadlines, is organized, hard-working, detail-oriented, has excellent customer service skills, and is a team player. Nevada ties are strongly preferred. - The U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP), Office of the Ranking Member, seeks virtual unpaid health and education interns for the Fall of 2020 (Late August/September – December). The positions offer undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to gain substantive experience working virtually with a Senate office while participating directly in the legislative process. Intern responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting Committee staff in performing administrative duties, conducting research, analyzing legislation, drafting memorandums, and assisting with virtual hearings. Interns play a key role with the office and will work closely with senior policy advisors. The HELP Committee works on a wide range of issues in the areas of health, education, labor, workforce, pensions, oversight, and disabilities. Qualifications: Applicants should have (i) an interest in public policy and (ii) a desire to learn. They also must have good attention to detail, work well under pressure, be self-motivated, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Education Policy Intern: interest in education-related policy, including: early childhood, k-12, postsecondary, workforce, and civil rights issues.
