The Democratic Staff of the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration seeks full-time undergraduate, graduate, or law students to work virtually during the Fall 2020 semester. Clerks and interns will assist Committee staff with research and the drafting of legislation, memos, talking points, and letters. Projects will focus on a variety of areas within the Committee’s jurisdiction, including election administration, campaign finance, and oversight. Successful applicants will have excellent research and writing skills and be highly motivated. - The Minority Staff of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, the chief investigative body of the House of Representatives, is seeking a full- or part-time press intern to start immediately. This is a paid position that will primarily be remote, but may require coming into the office occasionally depending on our hearing schedule. The press intern will have the opportunity to work closely with the Communications Director, assisting with daily press clippings, writing content for social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram), and cutting videos. Applicants must be creative thinkers and strong writers who are familiar with AP style. They should be detail-oriented and should have experience with graphic design and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere). Applicants must also be organized, as they may be asked to balance multiple projects at once. Interested applicants should send their resume and cover letter to [email protected]. - The Democratic Staff of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs seeks a full-time press intern for fall 2020. Responsibilities include but are not limited to writing social media content, drafting press releases, answering phones, compiling press clips, and other tasks depending on the needs of the Committee and the intern’s interests. Qualified candidates will have strong oral and written communications skills as well as a desire to help veterans and learn about the House and legislative process. U.S. Congressman Ed Case (Hawai’i - 01) is seeking an experienced Scheduler/Executive Assistant for his Washington, D.C. office. Duties include but are not limited to managing all aspects of the Congressman’s daily and long-term schedule in D.C., the District and elsewhere, and coordinating and implementing all administrative functions of the D.C. office including constituent requests and records management. Direct report is to the Chief of Staff although the Congressman is routinely involved in all aspects of his office operations.Very strong preference given to (1) prior Capitol Hill experience especially in scheduling and (2) Hawai’i background, and applicants are asked to detail these attributes. This individual will be principally responsible for answering constituent correspondence in a thoughtful and timely fashion. This includes managing the administrative functions of the mail program and drafting content for responses. This position is also responsible for policy analysis and research on a portfolio of issues. The ideal candidate must have superb verbal and written communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, strong time and project management capabilities, and a demonstrated record of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Capitol Hill experience and/or Pennsylvania ties a plus.
