Two things...
One... Banco di Caribe is up for sale. Soon it will be the Mullet Bay property. Once a definite appraisal of the property's actual worth is determined. In the past, we have written that St. Maarten people should come together with government and government-owned entities and invest together to buy back Mullet Bay.
So, here is a great opportunity that can lead up to that realization...
Let's come together as a people, pool our resources, and buy Banco di Caribe together with government and government-owned entities.
Later we can use Banco di Caribe as a development bank to raise the funding needed to buy back the Mullet Bay property from ENNIA.
We have to think long term, and we have to think strategically. With funding from APS, SZV, and Central Bank-issued bonds, a Banco di Caribe-backed local investment consortium can eventually raise enough funding to buy back Mullet Bay.
There is hope yet for a MBBBI. A Mullet Bay Buy Back Initiative.
Two....
We must be donkeys!
How long will we continue to butt our feet against the same stone?
Once again, N.V. GEBE is plagued by power outages, damaged engines and overloaded machines leading to constant load-shedding. And the heart of the summer is not even yet upon us. Or should we say, the heat of the summer is not yet upon us. So yes, imagine when we will have airco's on full blast in July? Are we going to ask the hotels to ration their power usage by going off the grid and powering up their generators?
It is time N.V. GEBE starts considering alternative energy sources.
We don't care what!
Anything that would lead to no power outages and no load-shedding.
It is not like we don't have a choice. Yes, we do! There are more enough alternative energy sources in abundance. What are we waiting on?
