Marine Travel are the celebrating 17 years in the marine travel sector this year and are delighted to announce we have expanded our office network and operate in Dublin, Ireland. From this location we are able to provide fares quoted and billed in Euros. Increasing our portfolio of marine fares and connecting us to our customers in the Euro zone.
Dave started work in the marine travel industry in 1977 in Liverpool with its famous maritime traditions. Having worked in the travel sector for a number of travel agents over the years, Dave decided to set-up Chartham Marine Limited in Canterbury after commuting to London for several years. Why did you choose to develop the business into Europe?
It has been in the company's business plan for a number of years to have a base in Europe. Having customers already in Italy, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Ireland and Malta it seems natural that we open an office at this time, to continue expansion in the European market, which we will concentrate on over the next 18 months .
Why Now?
With the uncertainty of Brexit this new location will allow us to further establish ourselves in the Euro market zone, free of UK/European constraints. It will enable us to meet our European customer needs better and provide direct access to Market marine fares in Euros making us more competitive for new and existing customers.
How will this benefit the company as a whole?
This will be a great opportunity for those working within the company to grow and develop with us whether it’s here in the UK or at one of our other locations. Currently 15% of our business is from outside the UK and we would like to and build this up to 40%
Where do you see the company in 5 years' time?
Our future plans already include development in the Asian market, using our Philippines office which already operates 24/7/365 to help expand our business and brand in that region. The next 5 years will be exciting times for everyone involved with Marine Travel
