Tifereth Israel Women's League in Des Moines, IA along with the Stein Film
Series and Jewish Federation of Greater Des Moines had the honor of hosting the presentation of an award-winning film, For the Living produced by 11 Dollar Bill.
As noted in its production context, “The film focuses on the "Ride for the Living" initiative, retracing the Holocaust survival path of Marcel Zielinski from Auschwitz-Birkenau to Krakow." We had over 40 people in attendance to view the film and have a conversation with the Producer, Lisa Effress and Co-Director/Co-Writer, Tim Roper.
It was very informative and opened up many eyes to additional perspectives in regards to the Holocaust, genocide in general. What was amazing was that so many people walked away saying it was one of the best Jewish focused films that has been seen in a long time.
