The IntraContinental Region - Women's League for Conservative Judaism

March 9, 2026/20 Adar 5786

Message from Denise Mosk, President

This time of year, is very exciting when you are a member of Women’s League for Conservative Judaism. The current administration is getting ready to hand off the reigns to the next group of women leaders who will carry on the traditions that we have created. We recently had six weeks of meditation that was absolutely phenomenal. If you missed it, we will try to have it again. We will be learning about Undies for Everyone and how it all began from Rabbi Amy Weiss on the 22nd. Be sure to register.

The conference committee has been working around the clock to bring important programming to our affiliate presidents, vice presidents, officers and members. But don’t forget the fun and excitement factor of our annual conference. An amazing author, a memory of a famous day in Oklahoma City, a Jewish theatre presentation and what is a conference without a murder mystery. Most importantly, we will be having our installation of the officers for the next three years. We have been sending information weekly to remind you that OKC Conference is one that you do not want to miss. The registration form has been sent to everyone on our emailing list. If you have not seen it, please contact me and we will fix that immediately. I hope to see all of you in O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A – Oklahoma OK!

This July, International Women’s League will be holding their Convention in Alexandria Virginia. We hold this Convention every three years and it is never disappoints. There are three parts to the Convention – Shabbaton – held completely at the hotel, Convention Sunday through Tuesday morning, and a special evening Tuesday night leading into an open board meeting on Wednesday with the new administration. Information about registration has been sent to all members. Please let me know if you have not received the information.

I want to remind all of the affiliates in IntraContinental Region that we must support our future leaders. Please include in your budget each year to send women to the Annual Conference and the Triennial Convention. This is the only way that we can be sure that Women’s League for Conservative Judaism survives.

Meditation Classes were a hit!

Over the last 6 weeks ICR Programming offered an opportunity to provide a meditation course to our members. We had approximately 74 members sign up and nearly 10-15 members attend each of the sessions.

Denny Kelly, our Meditation Expert (dennywkelly@hotmail.com) did a fantastic job guiding us through the process. The unique aspect was that a member could attend as it worked within their schedule. We learned a few techniques and enjoyed taking an hour for ourselves. It was exciting to see that some Affiliates saw membership growth due to the interest in attending the program. We are also pleased to share that Denny has invited us all to his current complementary program every Monday at noon, www.meditationandmoreonmonday.com.

Torah Fund

I want to thank all of you who have donated to this year’s Torah Fund Campaign – Oseh Shalom. Sadly, we do not have Shalom in the middle east, as Israel is once again at war – this time with Iran and its’ proxies. I know we are all praying for a speedy conclusion to the war and for the safety of all the people of Israel!

As we are well past the midpoint of the fiscal year, here is an update on how the campaign is going. The Torah Fund international goal for the Oseh Shalom general campaign of 2025-2026 is $1,150,000. As of February 17, 2026, Torah Fund has received $800,727 toward this campaign. We are ahead of where we were last year at this time.

In case you missed the wonderful Torah Fund Stands With Israel program – Sawsan Natour-Hasson, the Minister of Public Diplomacy at the Embassy of Israel in Washington, - held Sunday, January 11th, a video can be found at the bottom of the Torah Fund Videos page: https://www.jtsa.edu/hidden-page/torah-fund-video-video-collection/

The next Torah Fund Stands With Israel program will be held on

May 6, 2026 at 7:30 eastern time on Zoom.

Below are some reminders on how you can donate to Torah Fund:

Donate to the general campaign — Oseh Shalom  HERE. For donations of $180 or more, you will receive the beautiful Oseh Shalom pin as our gift.

Send a beautiful ECARD HERE for only $5.

Send a paper card available from your affiliate’s Torah Fund chair.

To donate from an IRA distribution or Donor-Advised fund, contact your affiliate’s Torah Fund Chair.

On-line donations are preferred because the processing is more efficient and cost effective. Plus, a receipt will be e-mailed to you immediately after donating. Be sure to include your Sisterhood affiliate’s name, city and state when completing the on-line form.

Checks are still accepted. Please make your check payable to Torah Fund and give the check to your Torah Fund Chair. She will send the checks to New York.

Again, thank you for your donations – remember, no donation is too small!
