We are pleased to send you the inaugural issue of the Fisk University General Alumni Association's Membership Newsletter that we have named "Bulldog Bites". It is being sent to all Fisk alumni with email addresses. The Association wants to stay in touch. Two of our primary goals are to increase communication and to increase our membership base.

Members Make The Difference
A Message from Will J. Carter '57
Membership Committee Chair
I hope that you will find "Bulldogs Bites," the General Alumni Association of Fisk University, Incorporated's newly created communication link with Fisk's sons and daughters, to be useful and long needed. I encourage you to join me as a life member of our association, or at least be a yearly paid member. Annual Memberships are $50 and Life Memberships are currently $750. Click on "Become A Member" at the top right of the newsletter OR click here to learn more .
Hopefully, in due time, we will be able to gather at Fisk for special occasions such as Jubilee Day, Homecoming, Reunion and Graduation Weekend as we have for so many years in the past. I look forward to meeting again.
In the meantime, I want to thank members of the Membership Committee for their time and energy: Renee Carr '86, Beverly Hill Dixon '76, Debbie Miller '75, Reginald Jackson, Sr. '82, and Milton Sloan, Ph.D. '80.
Finally, we want your input on how often to publish our Membership Newsletter - "Bulldog Bites". Let me ask you to take a minute and give us your feedback by completing the poll below.

During these uncertain times, I hope that you and your family are safe.
Thanks to all faculty, staff, students, alumni and other supporters of the University who contributed to Fisk’s probation being lifted by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (Commission of Colleges). This is a major milestone as we look to the future.
As I mentioned during our 2020 Annual Meeting in June and per the General Alumni
Association's Bylaws, alumni are asked to
- Establish and administer fundraising activities
- Assist with recruitment/retention
-
Assist in the establishment and maintenance of affiliated local chapters
- Organize and mobilize the collective strength of the alumni and collaborate with the University in initiating and carrying out programs designed to affect the continued growth and welfare of Fisk University.
At the close of fiscal year 2020, which ended on June 30th, Fisk raised $10.8M with alumni contributing 2.6M or 24%. Kudos to the class of 1990 for the highest alumni participation at 84.72% and the Golden Class of 1970 for donating the most - $176,735. Overall alumni participation was 34.12%. The University is focusing on cultivating major donors. If you have a personal relationship with a potential donor, please contact me at gaafu.chair@gmail.com

It is Good Trouble Time…Time to Get Out and Vote.
Vote like your life depends on it because it does!
Do it to honor John Lewis, Diane Nash, our ancestors, and all those folks that came before us that marched, fought, sat in, were beaten, spat on, attacked by dogs, lynched and died so that we would have the right vote,.
So, what does good trouble look like?
Good Trouble means be prepared, organized and Go Vote….Early! Below are useful links for you, your family and your friends..
