AHAI ASSOCIATION LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE
Introducing...The AHAI Association Leadership Conference

AHAI will hold its annual gathering of all our Associations throughout the state on June 2nd at the Woodfield Hyatt Hotel in Schaumburg, Illinois. Formerly known as the AHAI Annual Meeting, this important event is receiving a facelift. To better reflect the purpose of the meeting, it has been renamed to The AHAI Association Leadership Conference.

The conference is designed to educate Association Leaders and allow AHAI to hear from our members on a variety of topics which include player development, rules and ethics issues, referee retention, goaltender development, club communications/social media, amongst other topics. The conference will include guest speakers from USA Hockey, the legal community, website technology, and other subject matter experts. We will hold our AHAI Board Elections in our Opening Session, and a few special guest speakers will join us to wrap up the day. Just like last year, we will have pertinent vendors that serve our membership in attendance.

Check-in will begin at 8:00 a.m. Conference will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there so save the date and bring out all your Association Leaders. ~ AHAI Board of Directors

ASK THE OFFICIAL
By Dave Zednik, IHOA VP of Rules & Ethics
QUESTION: If a player or coach has been given a game misconduct and they are serving the suspension in the next regularly scheduled game for the same team, are they restricted from going into the locker room?

ANSWER:   Strictly speaking the USA Hockey National Office does not address or govern coach and player discipline. This would be the responsibility of the local governing body (League, Association, Affiliate, etc.) since they have a better understanding of all circumstances surrounding the incident. READ MORE>>
