We've launched the Broadway Safety Improvement Project! See below for more information.

As part of this project, we will:

  • Install Separated Bike Lanes: This refers to bike lanes along the curb, separated from vehicles by white flex posts or other physical barriers.
  • Add Traffic Calming: This includes street elements designed to reduce driver speeds, which improves safety for all users.
  • Reduce Parking: This project will reduce on-street parking. We haven't finished design, but we expect to maintain about 25% of the current spaces.

These changes will align with the Cambridge Bicycle Plan and the Vision Zero Action Plan and will help us meet the requirements of the Cambridge Cycling Safety Ordinance.
