Midlothian will be the new home of the third Own Touch Soccer/Futsal facility in the Greater Richmond area. The new state-of-the-art center will unveil 20,000 square feet of FIFA quality turf and futsal surfaces for soccer/futsal technical training. The facility will also feature family-friendly amenities including a parent's lounge, study room, AV room and will also house Own Touch Soccer/Futsal's main offices.
Own Touch "Southside" is located at 12700 Oak Lake Court in Midlothian and will boast some of the top coaches in the area. Don Hughes has been named as Director of Coaching for Own Touch Southside. Hughes is a former professional player (DC United), who has played at every level of professional soccer in the United States. He has been coaching travel soccer for 17 years, including the past 10 years with the Richmond Kickers. "We're looking forward to cultivating new talent," said Hughes. "There's a growing diversity in soccer and futsal which is widely represented in Midlothian and we're very excited about that."

The Own Touch Curriculum is designed to improve the individual technical ability of players of all levels, ages, and skill sets. Own Touch offers tailored curriculum for recreational players all the way to youth national team members. The Own Touch Mentorhsip program has grown tremendously over the past 18 months. "Own Touch Mentees as young as 11 are being invited to play internationally. Our graduating Mentees are securing soccer scholarships at top universities, and we even have National Team players in the program," said Own Touch President Greg Simmonds. Having a presence on the Southside was always a goal so it's great to see it come to fruition."
Own Touch offers a unique training program designed to get the most effective individual training for youth players in the best environment possible. The Own Touch Mentorship Program provides access to year-round training at an affordable monthly rate. Camps and clincis are offered throughout the year and provide additional training. The new facilitiy is expected to begin these programs the first week in September.

During the off-season, players train 3 to 5 times a week and 1 to 2 times a week in-season.
