Introducing trip planning tools and resources!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our "Plan Your Journey" webpage which will provide information, resources, and suggested itineraries to make trip planning easier for paddlers, boaters, anglers, and other river users.

In collaboration with the University of Chattanooga Interdisciplinary Geospatial Technology Lab, Tennessee Valley Authority, and our Local Leadership Teams in communities enrolled in the Tennessee RiverTowns Program, we have inventoried over 750 amenities along the river and developed our interactive web map to provide a never-before-seen view of the distribution and quality of existing river experience amenities along the Tennessee River’s 652-mile reach. In addition to the interactive web map, we have included other helpful resources and information on the webpage to make trip planning easier and help users feel more confident in getting on the water.

Our new "Plan Your Journey" webpage features:

  • Interactive web map
  • Suggested itineraries for five river communities (additional itineraries will be rolled out in the coming year)
  • Roane County, TN
  • Bridgeport, AL
  • The Shoals, AL
  • Benton County, TN
  • Paducah/McCracken County, KY
  • Suggested gear lists
  • Resource stewardship best practices
  • Links to safety videos, basic paddling skills, and PFD selection tips

Whether you are planning the journey of a lifetime or a lifetime of journeys, our resources will help you prepare for your Tennessee RiverLine adventure!
