Congratulations to the ChiArts Class of 2021! Our 9th class of graduates have now completed over 2,500 hours of pre-professional arts training, including 260 hours of remote arts learning this year. We are incredibly proud of all 123 graduates. As Assistant Principal, Ms. Cullen shared during virtual commencement,

"You will all have this shared experience to remember, rejoice, and grow from. Things will get tough, and you are resilient and will persevere. You’ve conquered a nine hour school day during a global pandemic, while flexing, adjusting, and finding your future path. Some of you will pursue art, or science, or business, and no matter your choice, you will always have a home with us.”
To safely celebrate the Class of 2021 in person, on June 12 and 13 we hosted “The Finale,” an immersive and intimate graduation experience. The two-day graduation celebration provided a “walk down memory lane” as the basement of our Humboldt Park building was transformed with LED light shows, step-and-repeat projections, and 24 televisions with video messages of congratulations and hope from ChiArts educators and staff. Seniors followed the installation leading to the Jim and Kay Mabie Auditorium where they took one last walk across the main stage to receive their diploma! Read more in our press release
In addition to the “The Finale” graduation experience, ChiArts shared a pre-recorded virtual commencement on June 22 for ChiArts graduates, families, and friends from all over the nation to enjoy and celebrate. With over 170 devices tuned in, graduates received messages from ChiArts leadership, speeches from five guest artists, and every graduate’s future plans were displayed at the end of the ceremony.
