Arts for Learning Maryland is a nonprofit organization devoted to enriching the lives and education of Maryland's youth through educational and culturally diverse arts programs for ages birth through 18. The organization has been serving Maryland since 1950!
Arts for Learning's Early Childhood programs prepare young children for a lifetime of learning by empowering educators, caregivers, and childcare providers to use arts-integrated learning strategies in their classrooms and daily lives.
They are the Maryland affiliate of the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning through the Arts. Early childhood teaching artists are trained in the nationally recognized Wolf Trap model, which integrates music, movement, drama, and storytelling into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
Grounded in decades of research and practice, Arts for Learning programs support school readiness across social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development. Using a two-generational approach, Arts for Learning teaching artists partner with educators and caregivers to build classrooms grounded in joy and belonging and to develop lasting skills that continue long after the artist leaves the classroom.
