Community Conversations, In a Community Near You!
Community Conversations, are as they sound, a table at which a diverse cross-section of the community will sit together to break bread and converse. The idea is for the attendees to engage with people they don't necessarily know and, over a nice meal, discuss several questions about community. A host will be seated at each section of the table to help guide conversations as attendees discuss questions like "What kind of community do you want?" and "What are the most important issues facing our community right now?" It is our hope that, for attendees, the Small Town Community Conversations will humanize social issues and ignite a desire to think positively, engage civilly, and work conscientiously to create positive change within the community. A few friendships might even be made along the way! The dialogue begins when you come to the table!
Community Conversation Schedule:
Saturday March 23rd: Hancock, Noon - 2PM
Tuesday April 30th: Williamsport, 5-7PM
Thursday May 9th: Boonsboro, 5-7PM

Youth United Makes an Impact in Washington County!
North Hagerstown High School's Youth United group hosted a community wide, free will dinner on Saturday January 19th.  Over thirty students participated to help coordinate and run the event, in honor and fueled by the legacy and life of service that Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. led. This is the first event of its kind hosted by Youth United with more in store for the future. Currently, there are two active chapters of Youth United in Washington County Schools - Smithsburg High & North Hagerstown High. UWWC is hoping to partner with Washington County Public Schools to eventually offer Youth United at all high & middle schools in the county.
