School Nurse Educator, Plymouth North High School
AnnMarie has been a registered nurse for 27 years working, including the last 12 years in school health, in pre-school, elementary, and now high school for the past 5 years. She is currently a Regional Co-Chair for MSNO, and is enrolled in Cambridge College's MEd program for school nurses, graduating May 2020.

AnnMarie's Health Services' Director/MSNO Immediate Past-President, and her Superintendent are fully supporting her candidacy. She would be the first school nurse - as future MSNO President - providing full-time direct service to students in more than 10 years.

MSNO will be holding an election for this position according to our bylaws. Stay tuned for more details to come!

School-Based Medicaid Training by Mass Gov

On Thursday May 23, more than 290 MA Nurse Leaders & Managers participated in the state School-based Medicaid Program training (90 in person, 200 live-streaming) that was specific for reimbursement of skilled nursing services. Click here for the mass.gov FAQ's & guides.
National School Nurse Certification
The next online study group begins Friday, May 31st and will run for 6 weeks before the Summer testing window opens on July 11th! Questions? Contact our NCBSN liaison, Pat Hoban.

The National Board for Certification of School Nurses (NBCSN) offers a 6 week online study group on School Nurse Net and it is free to MSNO members through the National Association of School Nurses.

Beginning January 1, 2020, a BSN will be required to sit for the exam.

We are pleased to share that MSNO gave permission to MASNRN to use, for a secondary analysis, the Step Up and Be Counted de-identified data collected by MA school nurses and entered into MSNO's survey for the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 school years!

MASNRN meets on a monthly basis except during the summer, and there is no membership fee to join this group. Recognizing your busy schedules we offer you the opportunity to participate by phone (conference call), Zoom (similar to Facebook) or in person. You can choose to participate in studies that interest you.

On Monday June 3, the Joint Committee on Education will be hearing testimony for bills related to Health, Sex Education, and Nutrition. MSNO will be providing testimony for our bill, An act relative to MassHealth provider reimbursement.
