My name is Alex Banning (she/her). I am a 23 year old native of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. In my free time I like to read, play board games, hangout with friends and listen to music and podcasts! I also love going to museums and casually riding my bicycle. I am so excited to live in Asheville, become part of and serve with the community there. I look forward to exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains and surrounding area. See you soon, AVL!

I love to sing as well as play the viola with groups in my community, and sewing is a hobby that the women in my family all share. I am a excited to return to Asheville as a YAV for a second year of service and continue the exploration that I started in the fall of 2019.

My name is Genevieve Soucek (she/hers) and I grew up in Dallas, Texas. I recently completed my undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University. While at OSU I majored in Medical Anthropology and I minored in German. In my free time I enjoy baking and hammocking! I also love traveling when I am able to. During high school, I attended the Montreat Youth Conference a couple of times and I fell in love with the Asheville area! I am excited to return with the YAV program and work with Hands and Feet of Asheville.
WE MOVED!

As many of you know, our housing and work partnership with Brooks-Howell Home has been paused due to the nature of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, we are pleased to announce a new partnership with the William Black Lodge in Montreat! The lodge has long held a mission to provide an accessible place of rest, relaxation and renewal for Presbyterian church professionals working in ministry and we are THRILLED to be partnering with them this year! Learn more about William Black Lodge HERE!
