Introducing our new Board Chair!

Dear Friends of the Lighthouse,

We are happy to announce our new Board Chairman; Robert H. Gregory, III (Bob), who has started his term in governing our amazing Board of Directors.

Bob is a practicing attorney in Palm Beach County, and has a beautiful family with his wife and their three daughters. As a South Florida native, Bob was born in Miami, and grew up in Palm Beach County. In a family of lawyers and entrepreneurs, he endeavored first to working for the family business before being called into the legal vocation. He attended Florida State University for his undergraduate education, and later completed his Juris Doctor at the Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law at Barry University. Lighthouse Highlights:

Youth Services kids enjoys Camp and Prom!

On April 21st through the 23rd, our kids went camping in Titusville. They stayed in cabins and prepared meals! They enjoyed a campfire and leisure time, and hanging out at the cabin playing games!

Prom was held on May 6th, in New Port Richey and hosted by the Pasco Lighthouse. It was a statewide event for transition students from all over the state! We had 8 girls attend. They had their hair, makeup and nails done prior to the prom. They had a blast riding in the party bus, dancing, and meeting new people!

Focus Club receives a visit from Personal Ponies, LLC!

On Friday, May 5th, we hosted our monthly Focus Club at our office, and welcomed more than 25 participants to join in on the fun activities we had planned. We started off with a social time with members connecting over snacks and coffee.

We were then visited by a team member from Touch the Valley, who brought several of their 3D-printed topographic tactile puzzles for visually impaired people which help them navigate through our physical world with their sense of touch. Our participants were asked to provide constructive feedback in order to improve on the product in any way.

Midway through the program we had Personal Ponies, LLC visit us with three therapy ponies for our participants to visit with, pet, walk and groom. Our participants had so much fun learning about the care of the ponies and the fact that they were 26-, 24- and 16-years old!

Activity Club takes a trip to Ft. Lauderdale on the Brightline!

It was an exciting day for the Activity Club on Monday, May 15th! We had an amazing time on our trip to Fort Lauderdale from West Palm Beach on the Brightline Trains! We were a group of 18 adults (14 participants and 4 staff), and we had so much fun aboard the train. It was an interactive and educational experience for all of us.

We would like to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the staff at Brightline Trains, who made this a seamless experience and were very helpful and courteous. A special shoutout to Sean at Ft. Lauderdale station, who went above and beyond to make sure that we could board the train in a timely manner.
