For nearly four decades, we’ve worked to protect, restore, and open access to one of the most important natural resources in our region: the San Joaquin River and its trails, open spaces and wildlife habitats.
Now, we’re taking an important step forward. We are proud to introduce our new name: Parkway.
It’s an important step forward to end the confusion between our organization and the state agency called the San Joaquin River Conservancy.
This change reflects the fact that our river isn’t just a place. It’s a living force that shapes our community, strengthens families, and brings people together in ways few things can.
Along with our new name, we’re launching a new campaign - The river is calling. - to spread the word that the river is something we all belong to.
To further our goal of consistency in naming conventions and clearer communication, we will also be renaming Sumner Peck Ranch to Running River Ranch.
As we move forward as Parkway, support is still needed to help bring the river to life for thousands of families, students, and visitors. That’s why your continued involvement is more important than ever.
Join us. Stay involved. Help answer the call. Because when we invest in the river, we strengthen the entire community around it.
