We are excited to announce the appointment of Polly Lagana as Volunteer New York!’s new Executive Director.

Volunteer New York! is proud to announce the appointment of Polly Lagana as our new Executive Director, effective July 16, 2025. Polly brings over two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, with a strong track record of advancing equity, civic engagement, and volunteerism.

Polly steps into this role during a historic time, our 75th anniversary year, with a bold vision for the future and a passion for connecting people to purpose. Most recently, Polly served as Executive Director of the T200 Foundation, where she led a strategic expansion that increased revenue by 50% and significantly grew volunteer engagement and corporate partnerships. Her past roles include senior leadership at the STEM Alliance and the Student Leadership Network, where she helped scale programs impacting thousands of students across New York.

In Polly’s words, "Volunteer New York! is a community anchor, empowering people to take action and build stronger, more connected communities. It is an honor to join this extraordinary team and lead an organization with such a strong legacy and powerful mission.”

We also thank Suzanne C. Tillman for her steady leadership as Interim Executive Director during this transition, following the departure of longtime Executive Director Jeanette Gisbert.

As Chair of the Board of Directors, Amy Seiden, shared: “Polly’s strategic vision, deep community ties, and passion for service make her the ideal leader to guide Volunteer New York! as it begins its next 75 years of impact.”

We look forward to this exciting new chapter and to the continued growth of our mission under Polly’s leadership.

Volunteers are known to live longer and smile more.
