We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new mobile app, RCLS Go! Use it to access, explore, and manage your RCLS library account at any time, anywhere from your mobile device.

Getting started with RCLS Go…

1. Search for “RCLS Go” on your app store and download. RCLS Go is available on the App Store and Google Play. 
2. Look up your library by geolocation or name.
3. Log in with your library card number and PIN.

You are now ready to search the collection, manage your account, browse and discover new items, create and view lists, place holds, and check out e-Content. And just like the former app, RCLS Gateway, you will have access to a scannable library card within the RCLS Go app so you will never be without your library card if you have your phone!

Wrap up the March holiday week at a FREE family-fun variety show, hosted by beloved entertainer David Engel, on Saturday, March 30th at 10:30 AM!

Jack Frost is coming to town and he’s bringing wintertime fun! The world's premiere polar prankster and renown ice artist will delight audiences with this heart-warming production!

This program will be in the Town Hall Community Room. The show is geared for children ages 4 and up. Registration is required - secure your child's spot here!

Prior to the show, be sure to join in on the Wallkill Lions Club FREE Easter Egg Hunt on the library lawn at 9:00 AM - see below for more details!

If you or your child need a little extra help, Tutor.com may be your answer – and it’s totally free to Wallkill Public Library card holders! Tutor.com provides on-demand tutoring, homework help, test preparation, and writing assistance for students in grades K-Adult, in more than 60 subjects. No appointment is needed – tutors are available between 3 and 10 p.m.

One-on-one live tutoring isn’t the only option open to you. Study resources such as worksheets, videos, study guides, and lessons are available 24/7. Test prep is available for the SAT, AP exams, and grad school tests, and there are even career services like resume and cover letter help and job opening lists at your disposal.

You (or your student) can access Tutor.com directly from our website, www.wallkillpubliclibrary.org. Scroll down the page and click on the large "Tutor.com" button. Enter your library card at the prompt, and start learning!

The new Saturday Morning Book Club will have their very first meeting at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24! They'll be discussing Nikki Erlick's The Measure. The group will be meeting in the library's reading room.

For those who may be at work or otherwise tied up when the library’s Fiction Club meets during the week, or for those who are voracious readers and want to discuss more than one book a month, this is your chance!

On Tuesday March 5, at 2:30 p.m., the adult fiction book club will meet in our reading room to discuss The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. Newcomers are always welcome!

If you are registered for the Spring Tiny Art Show, you may pick up your unadorned birdhouse on Monday, February 26.

Using your imagination and any supplies at home, decorate your birdhouse and return it to the library on or before Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Be sure to include your name and age on or with your birdhouse to help us determine the Viewer's Choice Awards in 3 categories - Adult (18+), Teen (12-17), and Youth (up to 11). 

Birdhouses will be on display at the library from March 15 to April 15, 2024. Visitors to the library will be able to submit one vote per visit for their favorite birdhouse.

Hannaford Helps bag program benefits the library!

We are in the final week of this February promotion. Head over to the Modena Hannaford store (2066 Route 32, Modena, NY) and purchase either reusable Community bag pictured for $2.50. Recycling made easy

Wondering what's the best way to get rid of those used batteries rolling around in your junk drawer?

The Library accepts used batteries and cell phones to be recycled! You will find the WeRecycle Battery Box located on our window seat. Please use a plastic baggie (found on the side of the box) to place your batteries or cell phones in before placing them in the battery recycle box. Quick, easy, convenient, and environmentally friendly!

Mahjong meet-ups

Every Wednesday at 1 p.m. and Thursday at 6 p.m. the library hosts our Mahjong Clubs. If you’re a player or just interested in learning, join us! We supply the games and (a limited number of) 2023 mahjong cards. Just drop in, no registration required.

Adult coloring club

Coloring pages are no longer just for children! Join us for this creative and relaxing hobby. Just drop in, registration not required. Bring your own materials or use ours.

Coloring Club meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:00-8:00 PM. No registration is required.

Adult crafting

Grab a project and come enjoy the craft of your choice, whether it's knitting, crocheting, diamond painting, coloring, embroidery, or cross stitch!

Adult Crafting meets on Thursday afternoons between 2:00-5:00 PM. No registration is required.

If you were shut out of the Felted Egg Workshop, fear not! Additional spots have been added for the program, but don't delay... they WILL fill up quickly!

Needle felting is an age-old fiber art. Learn the process of turning wool roving into objects both fun and functional, using a special needle and foam mat. Registration is required. Ages 10+.  

The seniors were back to crafts after the winter break, making cute Easter bunny candy trays.

Bilingual Storytime Hora de Cuentos Bilingüe

Miss Michelle and Miss Peg enjoyed reading "What Can You Do with a Rebozo? / ¿Qué Puedes Hacer con un Rebozo?" by Carmen Tafolla and "The Land of Lost Things / El Pais de las Cosas Perdidas" by Dina Bursztyn with our friends this past Saturday at our Bilngual Storytime! We also sang some songs and made our own mini-books about spring, in both English and Spanish. Gracias to all who joined us!

Storytimes with Zoe the Therapy Dog!

Join Miss Michelle for Storytime in the Children's Room at the Wallkill Public Library on Tuesday, February 27 and March 12 at 10:30 a.m... with our special guest, ZOE the Therapy Dog!!!

Zoe loves to join in on the fun - she also enjoys being read to and will take some gentle pets along the way… she might even surprise us with some tricks!

Registration is REQUIRED. Please register each child separately.

If you and your child are interesting in learning more about the weekly Jewish day of rest called Shabbat, this special storytime is for you!

Join Nancy Gayle Judson, the PJ Library Coordinator of the Jewish Federation of Ulster County, for this January 26 program, which runs from 5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. She’ll read PJ Library stories and teach attendees about the rituals of Shabbat, while celebrating and reflecting on the week that has passed and making wishes for the week to come.
